Window Wells

In the picture on the left you see what looks like a nicely put together window well.  The issue here is that the grade at the window (the crushed stone) should be 6 inches below the bottom of the window sill.  This would allow snow and rain to have adequate drainage and not sit against your window causing problems for you down the road.


Always remember that pretty doesn't mean proper.  Window wells should be installed by a professional.
